CEPT University in Ahmenabad is a fine place to study Architecture, Urban Planning or Art. We visit the University on a sunny calm morning during the week. It is university holiday, so all rooms are empty but still accessible. The whole place breathes creativity and free thinking. The Architecture is sophisticated, yet elegant. It connects the landscape with the building. It creates open spaces that inspire to take action and do something unique.
In fact these spaces are so open, that many rooms are without doors and windows. They just open to the nature via gaps and holes in the volumes - even in upper storeys. The only security device that the Architect foresees is a horizontal metal tube at the height of the belly. Thats it. This design for a place where Architects learn their job is a bold statement!
And last but not least the self brewed Chai from the cafeteria is a must have!
