The foto from us was taken on a battlefield. It is the center of La Paz "El Prado" / "Plaza de los Estudiantes". Everybody is heavily armed with waterguns, waterbombs and "Espuma" a bottled kind of nasty foam. Plus, everyone is wrapped in full body plastic protection including eye protection.
It is very noisy. People are shouting, loud music is everywhere and, oh yes, fire crackers explode all around. The surface of the plaza is not only covered with a light stone, but also reflects the strong sunlight. When the embedded journalist (our Mum) did the shot, we kept quiet for a second.
