The variety of food and dishes that the hotel here is offering every morning and evening was overwhelming to me the first days. And -well - I have similar problems with the variety of stuff in a normal supermarket or even in a normal restaurant. It is already common in an ordinary german supermarket that there are at least 50 different tastes and sorts of yoghurt, for example. Variety and the possibility to have a big choice as a customer is considered to be an indicator for quality. It is not.
Reduction of complexity rules. The truly great restaurant offers three different dishes per day max. The small stationary shop, or the organic food store at the corner that offers a hand full of different yoghurts is my real king of retail.
By now, here at the daily hotel buffet, I have learned to focus on some few things that interest me.
