Most probably Germany is the No. 1 country when it comes to quality and variety of bread. Having this in mind it seems either a little strange, or simply cosmopolitain, when our local (german) baker produces both: Croissants and "Dänische" (danish buns)
Both are made of puff pastry with tons of butter. But the danish buns come in a special shape and with a topping of (peeled!) poppy seeds. The local baker in Heide only sells them once a week. I get up at night (6.30) for those buns.
