Fun with Coconuts

Prepare a Coconut snack and an oil candle from a Coconut in ten easy steps. Here is how it works:

You need:
- a Coconut
- drill
- handsaw
- strong knife
- straw
- sandpaper
(- maybe: a fridge and a glass)

Step 1
Put the Coconut in a fridge for about one night.

Step 2
Get all the mentioned stuff you need and look out for a shady place to start the work.

Step 3
Drill a hole in the (cold) Coconut. Use one of the three dark spots to do so. Either insert the straw and drink the cold and refreshing Coconut water directly, or pour the Coconut water in a glass and keep it in the fridge for later.

Step 4
Use the handsaw to cut the Coconut into two pieces.

Step 5
Get the white Coconut flesh from the two half Coconut pieces. Use a strong knife. Mind your fingers.

Step 6
The Cococnut part with the three dark spots and the hole is no longer needed.

Step 7
Prepare the Coconut meat. First cleaning and washing with water. Then cutting into small stripes is best to have a nice fingerfood snack.

Step 8
Use the sandpaper to soften the surface from the bottom half of the Coconut. Start with rough paper (Sandpaper quality: 40) and work however fine you need it until you see your mirrored image in the Coconut bowl (Sandpaper quality: 2000).

Step 9
Fill the polished bowl with oil (vegetable oil from the kitchen is fine) and put some tipped cotton inside. Set the tip on fire.

Step 10
Eat the prepared Coconut flesh stripes and drink the icecold Coconut water while looking into the Coconut candle light.
